Getting Started: July 6th, 2004
I pulled the boat into the shop and used my engine hoist to lift it off the trailer. The trailer gets hauled to the sandblaster... and I start stripping the crappy Blue paint off the beast. Luckily- my brother had used a base/clear lacquer- that sanded like butter. Not so luckily was stripping the 47 miles of deteriorated vinyl pinstripes he had put on it! I ripped out the interior and carpets and burned them... Surprisingly- the chrome and other accessories came off easily and I only snapped off a few bolts and screws. I didn't have to strip the hull, because it was the original gelcoat. It was scratched and scraped- so I did sand and repair any damaged areas.
